really want people to enjoy, and it always makes me a little sad if they
don't.
I tried reading it out loud to my nieces. They never made it past the
first few pages.

Was doing it because it was one of *my* favorites of course..

One of my childhood favorites!

There's also a musical MGM animated version, which came out in 1970. It
got generally positive reviews, but wasn't a hit. It's directed by Chuck
Jones, and includes Mel Blanc, Hans Conried, and June Foray among the
voice talent.

For me, its a bit of a guilty pleasure...

A classic. And don't forget the film adaptation by
*Chuck*Jones*, with Hans Conried voiceing both Azaz and the
Mathematigian.

The live-action bits that frame the story are shot in San
Francisco. Obviously Milo is suffers from clinical depression;
how else could you get bored in San Francisco?
