Very interesting - thanks.

Is it a flavor of Absent Parents if one or both parents are absent
because they need to be rescued by plucky resourceful children?
(Wrinkle in Time, Percy Jackson, ...)

"Citizen Of The Galaxy" has Thorby doing many things in the marketplace
of Sargon, the capital city of the nine planets, that his adoptive
father, the Colonel Spy Baslim, would not approve of. Especially
lifting stuff without the owner's approval.

"The Tar-Aiym Krang" has the thief Flinx running all over the place
without mother Matidff's knowing or permission, Flinx even goes off
planet.
