1996! Dolly the Sheep was cloned, NASA reported that the Allan
Hills 84001 meteorite (origin Mars) might contain fossils, and Ariane
flight V88 demonstrated the virtue of upgrading one's software.

Which 1996 Nebula Finalist Novels Have You Read?

The Terminal Experiment by Robert J. Sawyer
Beggars & Choosers by Nancy Kress
Calde of the Long Sun by Gene Wolfe
Coelestis by Paul Park
Metropolitan by Walter Jon Williams
Mother of Storms by John Barnes

Only the Sawyer, the Williams, and the Barnes. I have no idea why
anyone would vote for the Sawyer over the Williams.

Which 1996 Nebula Finalist Novellas Have You Read?

Last Summer at Mars Hill by Elizabeth Hand
Bibi by Mike Resnick and Susan Shwartz
Mortimer Gray's "History of Death" by Brian Stableford
Soon Comes Night by Gregory Benford
Yaguara by Nicola Griffith

Only the Stableford and only in the sense I read the novel it was
incorporated into.

Which 1996 Nebula Finalist Novelettes Have You Read?

Solitude by Ursula K. Le Guin
Home for Christmas by Nina Kiriki Hoffman
Jesus at the Bat by Esther M. Friesner
Tea and Hamsters by Michael G. Coney
The Resurrection Man's Legacy by Dale Bailey
Think Like a Dinosaur by James Patrick Kelly
When the Old Gods Die by Mike Resnick

Only the Kelly.

Which 1996 Nebula Finalist Short Stories Have You Read?

Death and the Librarian by Esther M. Friesner
Alien Jane by Kelley Eskridge
Grass Dancer by Owl Goingback
Short Timer by Dave Smeds
The Kingdom of Cats & Birds by Geoffrey A. Landis
The Lincoln Train by Maureen F. McHugh
The Narcissus Plague by Lisa Goldstein

Only McHugh's delightful comedy.

Wolfe and Sawyer
As for the shorter works, I don't remember reading any. While I have the
magazines that most appeared in, I wasn't reading all of them cover to
cover.

Read all but the Park. No Favorites, but the Williams was clearly
better than the rest for me. I have 5 Favorites among Williams' other
books; I haven't read any Sawyers that are better than solid B-list.

Once again, I haven't read anything shorter, not even the Stableford.
