I may have mentioned this before...
I saw Billy Joel open for a band called Pablo Cruz in 1977 at the
Berkeley Community Theater. Pablo Cruz was the headliner, if that was
not clear. Billy Joel blew them away. People were leaving the auditorium
while they were playing.
So, was that a /good/ thing?
I read it as "people were leaving Pablo Cruz".
That is, indeed, a possible interpretation.
Just not the one I made.
Oh, well.
It's pronouns. Billy Joel is "he", I take
it, and a band which I suggest was "Pablo Cruise"
<https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pablo_Cruise>
is "they", in the manner of "Jefferson Airplane",
although Wikipedia states that "fans", if the
term is used correctly, would ask which of the
people on stage was Pablo himself. They were
told "He's the guy in the middle."
But I too read it that Billy Joel was
blowing audience members out of the
auditorium. If literally, that's too
much amplification.
"Pablo Cruz may refer to:
Pablo Cruz (soccer) (born 1991), American soccer player
Pablo Cruz (actor) (born 1984), Mexican actor"
