I was in Montana fishing with five other guys on the Missouri River for
the last week. I left Helena, Montana this morning at 34 F. I arrived
back in Houston at 93 F. I want to go back.

My wife and daughter were fine. I live way outside Houston in what used
to be the sticks.

2015: Memorial Day flood
2016: Tax Day flood
2017: Harvey
2019: TS Imelda
2020: TS Beta
2021: Grid collapse due to freeze, Hurricane Nicholas
2022: heat/drought
2023: Hottest summer on record
2024: Derecho"

All good to know. A friend of mind lived in Friendswood for 35+ years
before moving to Colorado just a couple years ago. For the most part, he
does not miss the weather he left behind, although getting adjusted to
the colder temps in Colorado took a while.

Last time I was in Houston, in 2001, there was also a flood. Those of
us in College Station benefited mightily, as classical musicians
relocated temporarily to our area, and put on a series of wonderful
chamber concerts.

Texas is the only place where I've ever had to swim across a street. In
memory I associate SE Texas with floods.
