Oh no, they keep on popping up all over the place.
If the Sun actually travelled around the Earth, the answer would be:

one day

one day
But we know that the Earth rotates on its
axis in 23 hours, 56 minutes. (true)

So, the Sun must go around the Earth either
in about twelve hours, or one year. I'd have
to think about that, and I refuse to.

Flat earths don't rotate. That's the context of the discussion.

But, if the flat earth /did/ rotate and the Sun rotated around it ...
yes, that would take some thinking to figure out.

Maybe even some Rocket Science, who can say?

They don't? Is the perimeter a circle? square? rectangle? triangle?
polygon? irregular? It can certainly still rotate in any orientation
(even providing the concept of day & night). Is it occupied only on
one side? or are both sides occupied?

If it rotated the elephants and turtle would get so dizzy you'd end up
with celestial vomit everywhere. Hey, maybe that's what comets are
actually made of?

First, it must be understood that I am not a flat earther. I am merely
talking about the concept.

Second, thanks for reminding the confused that the flat earth usually
rests, ultimately, on a stack of turtles that go "all the way down" in
a magnificent infinite regress.

Third, if you want to see a depiction of a flat earth, /Gods of Egypt/
shows one. No elephants or turtles, however -- and, yes, it has two
sides, giving a new meaning to "underworld".

The world of /Dark City/ might also serve as an example, of sorts.

Or on four elephants standing on the back of a single turtle, who swims
through the cosmos - as in Terry Pratchett's /Discworld/ series, to
which the preceding poster is clearly referring.

I have no doubt that such a long-standing belief has many versions.

Believing the Sun goes around the Earth or believing the Earth is flat
are too different stupidities, although some fools may well believe
both. :-)

While, of course[*], there is no "official" flat earth model most, if not
all, the Flat earther believe that the sun is, somehow, circling above and
disappears because of "perspective".

[*]"Of course" because there is no way to have a model that explain all the
observations.

Ptolemy had the Sun rotating about the Earth (mostly, as I understand
it, because Aristotle did), but at the start of /Almagest/ there is a
section explaining why the Earth is not flat.

The basic idea is that, if it /were/ flat, every star [1] visible on a
particular night would be visible from every point on the Earth. But
this is not the case.

[1] If necessary, it can be conceded that some polar stars may be
hidden by the thickness of the flat earth except near the poles. This
is more about the way stars appear/disappear as you move towards and
beyond the Equator.
